Barbara Stout - Chinese calligraphy inspired paintings. When Barbara Stout first visited China, her longstanding interests in ancient and primitive art, nature, icons, poetry, and spiritual expression came together in the ancient pictograph-based Chinese language. One of her earliest shows was when her work was selected for a traveling exhibit to China in 1984.
